This policy explains what personal data Wubster collects through this website, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it. It is short because we collect very little.
Who we are
Wubster (“we”, “us”) runs wubster.com and is the controller of the personal data described in this policy.
Contact for anything privacy-related: [email protected].
What we collect
Right now wubster.com is a single page with a waitlist. We collect:
| Group | What it includes | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Waitlist | Your email address, and the referral or campaign tag of the link you came from, if any | You, when you join the waitlist |
| Technical | IP address, browser and device type, pages requested, time of the request | Automatically, in server and network logs |
| On your device | A note that you already joined, so the page remembers you next time | Your browser’s local storage — never sent to us |
We do not ask for your name, payment details or any sensitive data.
How we use it
We use your email only to tell you when your access opens and to send occasional updates about the launch. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
We use technical data to keep the site running and secure, and to stop abuse such as repeated form submissions.
We do not sell your personal data, we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles.
Legal bases
If the GDPR or the UK GDPR applies to you, we rely on your consent for the waitlist email, which you can withdraw at any time, and on our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure for technical data.
Retention
Waitlist emails are kept until you are invited, unsubscribe or ask us to delete them, and in any case no longer than 24 months. Server logs are kept for 14 days. Our service providers may keep their own technical logs under their own policies.
Security
The site is served only over HTTPS, and access to our server is limited to the people who run Wubster. No system is perfectly secure: if a breach affects your data, we will notify you and the authorities where the law requires it.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to show you the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop emailing you. Depending on where you live, you also have these rights:
- EEA and UK: restrict or object to processing, receive your data in a portable format, withdraw consent, and complain to your local data protection authority.
- California: know, delete and correct your personal information, and not be discriminated against for using these rights. We do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of.
- Elsewhere: any rights your local law gives you. Write to us and we will honour them.
Write to [email protected]. We answer within 30 days and may ask you to confirm that the email address is yours.
International transfers
Our providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States. Where the law requires it, transfers from the EEA, the UK or Switzerland rely on adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses.
Children
Wubster is a business service for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone younger. If you think we have, write to us and we will delete it.
Changes and contact
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we use your email, we will tell you by email first.
Questions about this policy or your data: [email protected].
